Remove/install pressure sensor for Active Body Control - AR32.50-P-0014N

MODEL 215.### ## up to 031000 

MODEL 220.### ## up to 310000 with CODE (487) Active body control (ABC)

REMOVING Remove     
DANGER Risk of death  caused by vehicle slipping or toppling off of the lifting platform. Align vehicle between the columns of the hydraulic hoist and position the four support plates below the hoist support points specified by the vehicle manufacturer. AS00.00-Z-0010-01A
DANGER Risk of injury  to skin or eyes from hydraulic fluid spraying out under pressure. Risk of poisoning  from swallowing hydraulic fluid. Depressurize the hydraulic system completely before starting any work on the system. Wear protective clothing and safety glasses. AS00.00-Z-0013-01A
NOTES Before opening the hydraulic system the area surrounding the separation point should be cleaned thoroughly. Even minute particles of dirt, introduced into the hydraulic components, can result in malfunctions and a total failure of the hydraulic system    
IMPORTANT Notes on active body control suspension   AH32.50-P-0001-01N 
1.1 Remove lower engine compartment paneling Vehicles with gasoline engines AR61.20-P-1105M
1.2 Remove bottom section of sound-proofing capsule Vehicles with diesel engines AR94.30-P-5300M
2 Unlock and detach plug (1) on ABC pressure sensor (B4/5)    
3 Unscrew ABC pressure sensor (B4/5) from the valve unit for pressure supply (52) NOTES Before releasing the ABC pressure sensor the engine must have been switched off for at least 5 minutes so that the ABC system is depressurized.  
  Replace seal  IMPORTANT Only carry out steps 4.1 to 6.1 when reusing the ABC pressure sensor (B4/5).  
4.1 Remove old sealing ring (3) from ABC pressure sensor (B4/5) NOTES Do not damage thread of ABC pressure sensor and seat surface of sealing ring in order to guarantee proper seating of the sealing ring.  
5.1 Lubricate assembly sleeve (3a) lightly on the outside and plug onto the thread of the ABC pressure sensor (B4/5) IMPORTANT To assemble the new sealing ring (3) only the assembly sleeve delivered may be used.  
REFER TO CAPACITIES & SPECIFICATIONS Hydraulic fluids (Specification 345.0)   BB00.40-P-0345-00A
6.1 Lightly lubricate the new sealing ring (3) and slide over the assembly sleeve (3a) NOTES Ensure that the sealing ring is seated properly in order to avoid damage to the sealing ring.  
REFER TO CAPACITIES & SPECIFICATIONS Hydraulic fluids (Specification 345.0)   BB00.40-P-0345-00A
INSTALLING Install     
7 Screw ABC pressure sensor (B4/5) into the valve unit for pressure supply (52) and tighten to the specified torque TORQUE SPECIFICATION *BA32.50-P-1020-01A 
8 Plug the plug (1) onto the ABC pressure sensor (B4/5)    
9.1 Install lower engine compartment paneling Vehicles with gasoline engines AR61.20-P-1105M
9.2 Install bottom parts of noise encapsulation Vehicles with diesel engines AR94.30-P-5300M
DANGER Risk of accident  caused by vehicle starting off by itself when engine is running. Risk of injury  caused by contusions and burns when working in engine during starting procedure Secure vehicle to prevent it from moving.
Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes.
Do not grasp hot or rotating parts.
