Obstruction sensor
An excessive force limiter feature is implemented in the sliding/pop-up roof (SR) (M12) to protect against injuries resulting from pinching extremities. For this purpose pressure-sensitive resistance foils are located at the front and rear rubber edges of the glass roof. If one of the resistance values drops below a defined threshold due to application of the pressure of over 100 Newtons, the overhead control panel control module (N70) recognizes an obstruction and immediately interrupts the momentary actuation. The sliding/pop-up roof (SR) (M12) is then moved to the last stored non-actuated position (reversed).
In case of excessive force limiter, it is no longer possible to open and close the sliding/pop-up roof (SR) (M12) automatically.
