NOTES Notes on self-locking nuts and bolts   AH00.00-N-0001-01A
1 Position steering wheel horizontal (front wheels in straight-ahead position) NOTES With a disengaged steering coupling (25) the steering wheel should not be turned because the spiral contact coil will be destroyed.
2 Connect no load current retention unit   AR54.10-P-1030-07I
DANGER Risk of explosion  caused by oxyhydrogen gas. Risk of poisoning and caustic burns  caused by swallowing battery acid. Risk of injury  through burns to skin and eyes from battery acid or when handling damaged lead-acid batteries No fire, sparks, open flames or smoking. Wear acid-resistant gloves, clothing and safety glasses. Pour battery acid only into suitable and appropriately marked containers. AS54.10-Z-0001-01A
3 Disconnect battery ground cable IMPORTANT Turn key in electronic ignition switch EIS into position "0". Key cannot be withdrawn.
IMPORTANT Vehicle fitted with code (889) Keyless-Go: Switch off engine, remove Keyless-Go cards from the vehicle and store outside of transmitter range
IMPORTANT Ensure that ground cable will not come into renewed contact with the battery terminal as you are working.
IMPORTANTInstallation:  After connecting, read out diagnostic trouble code memory, set time at instrument cluster, encode radio, normalize power windows and activate steering angle sensor.
Vehicles with stationary heater: adjust time display on stationary heater.
