REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
1.1 Activate the service mode in the TELE AID emergency call system IMPORTANT Only with code 347, 855. AR82.95-P-0005-03AM
IMPORTANT Notes regarding the Tele-Aid emergency call system IMPORTANT Only with code 347, 855. AH82.95-P-0001-01AM
DANGER Risk of explosion  from explosive gas. Risk of poisoning and caustic burns  from swallowing battery electrolyte. Risk of injury  through burns to skin and eyes from battery acid or when handling damaged leadacid batteries No fire, sparks, naked flames or smoking. Wear protective gloves, acid-resistant clothing and safety glasses. Pour battery electrolyte only into suitable and appropriately marked containers. AS54.10-Z-0001-01A
2 Disconnect ground cable of battery NOTES Do not connect quiescent current retention device. A short circuit could occur if the electrical line circuit 30 (B+) comes in contact with ground.
IMPORTANT Vehicles with Code (889) Keyless Go: Switch off engine, remove Keyless Go cards from the vehicle and keep outside the range of the transmitter.
IMPORTANT Turn key in electronic ignition lock EIS into position "0". Key cannot be withdrawn.

3 Remove poly V-belt of supercharger   AR13.21-P-1202RVK
4 Remove ribbed V-belt   AR13.22-P-1202R
5 Unscrew nut (6), take off coolant expansion reservoir (7) and swivel to the side IMPORTANT Do not carry out removal.  
6 Remove air intake tube (8) IMPORTANT Only right side  
7 Unclip and remove engine cover (9)    
DANGER Risk of injury  to skin and eyes from scalding from escaping hot coolant. Do not open cooling system unless coolant temperature is below 90°C. AS20.00-Z-0001-01A
  Risk of poisoning  from swallowing coolant. Open cap slowly and release the pressure.
Do not pour coolant into beverage bottles. Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and eye protection.
 
8 Remove radiator   AR20.20-P-3865AB

9 Unscrew bolts (1) of alternator TORQUE SPECIFICATION *BA15.40-P-1005-01A 
10 Disconnect electrical lines (2/3). IMPORTANTInstallation:  Observe installation position of the line (3).  
    TORQUE SPECIFICATION *BA15.40-P-1001-01A 
11 Take out alternator (G2) toward front    
12 Install in reverse sequence.    
13 Carry out functional test    
14 Render electrical system operational IMPORTANT Perform basic programming (normalize windows and sliding roof, etc.). AR00.19-P-0200M
15.1 Deactivate service mode in TELE AID emergency call system IMPORTANT Only with code 347, 855. AR82.95-P-0005-03AM
