Remote control key, function - GF80.57-P-4101-02PP

Drive authorization 

When the remote control key (A8/1) is inserted into the EIS control module (N73) the key is supplied with voltage via an induction coil. Data is exchanged via the infrared transmission and receiving unit for the purpose of verifying drive authorization.

Locking/unlocking vehicle, remote trunk unlock only in model 203.0 (sedan) 

When pressing the corresponding transmitter button a radio signal and infrared signal is transmitted by the remote control key (A8/1).After the validity of this signal has been verified, the vehicle is locked/unlocked or the trunk lid is opened (sedans only).

Convenience feature 

The signals for the convenience feature are transmitted only by infrared, not by radio!

Global/selective modes 

The vehicle setting "global/selective unlocking" can be changed by simultaneously pressing the "Unlock" and "Lock" buttons on the remote control key for longer than 5 s. The battery check lamp blinks twice to confirm the change.

Mechanical key 

The mechanical key can be removed completely from the remote control key (A8/1) by pressing the unlock button. If the vehicle is unlocked or locked with the mechanical key, the central locking and the anti-theft alarm (ATA), code 551, are not operated.

Battery check 

When a button is pressed, the battery indicator lamp comes on to confirm that the remote control key (A8/1) battery is in proper working condition.
