The remote control key consists of an electronic and a mechanical key. The electronic component contains an FM radio transmitter, an infrared transmitter/receiver unit, a computer chip, the control buttons and a battery.

Lock button (1) 

• Press once (global locking)
• Press once and hold down, while pointing at IR receiver unit (convenience closing)

Unlock button (2) 

• Press once with "Selective" setting (driver's door and fuel filler flap are unlocked)
• Press twice with "Selective" setting (unlocks everything)
• Press once with "Global" setting (unlocks everything)
• Press once and hold down while pointing at IR receiver unit (convenience opening)

Release trunk lid button (3) model 203.0 only 

• Press once, t > 500 ms (trunk open)

Battery check LED (4) 

• Indicating the status of the battery by coming on momentarily when the remote control key is actuated.
• Confirmation of switchover of central locking from selective to global unlocking or vice versa by flashing twice (press buttons (1 and 2) simultaneously and hold down for t > 5 s).

Release (5) 

• The mechanical key (7) can be removed by actuating the release (5).

Panic alarm button (6) 

(with code (763) Radio remote control with panic switch)

• Alarm triggering by actuating once (t > 1 s).
• Alarm discontinuation by pressing again.
