  Infrared receiver, location The left front IR receiver (A26/1) and right front IR receiver (A26/2) are installed on the corresponding door handle in the front door.  
  Infrared receiver, task Receives infrared signals from the transmitter key.  
  Infrared receiver, design The left front IR receiver (A26/1) and right front IR receiver (A26/2) consist of an infrared sensitive semi-conductor with active actuation electronic circuitry. The receiver is recessed in the door handle behind a filter.  
  Infrared receiver, function The infrared signal from the transmitter key is converted to an electrical signal This signal is read in by the left front door control unit or the right front door control unit.
