Risk of injury caused by pinching or crushing when working on springs or spring bodies that are under load

Use only approved tensioning devices; shield off hazard area if necessary. Inspect special tools for damage and proper operation (visual inspection). Wear protective gloves.

Install fittings on top and bottom of spring.
Install the fittings as far out as possible to ensure that a maximum number of spring coils will be compressed (7 or 8 coils on front spring, 3 to 5 coils on rear spring).
Turn recesses on the compressor fittings toward inside of vehicle.
Insert tensioning device into the clamping plates and lock on the upper clamping plate.
The retaining lugs (arrow) must engage in the depressions in the upper clamping plate.
Compress the spring.
Do not use an impact wrench to avoid damaging the thread.
Use chalk to mark the position of the compressor fittings relative to the spring coil.
Release the spring.

Ensure correct seating of the rubber mount in the front end, and the spring coil outlet in the recess in the wishbone (arrow).

The bore in the impression must be exposed after releasing. To check the position of the spring scan using a wire of ø 3 mm.
