Satellite radio, task - GF82.85-P-3113-01RMU
The SDAR antenna (A2/82) receives S band signals from satellites and is able (with a special antenna on the floor) to also receive these signals from terrestrial gap-filling transmitters (mostly in towns). The signals received by the SDAR antenna (A2/82) are passed on to the SDAR control unit (N87/5) via 2 coaxial cables. The SDAR control unit (N87/5) receives and decodes the signals. These are then transmitted to the operating unit via the Media Oriented Systems Transport (MOST). The function of the satellite radio can be called up at the COMAND operating, display and control unit (A40/3) using the "SAT" button.
The Sirius satellite radio receiver is planned as a dealer option. The vehicle is delivered with all the cables required for this. To equip the vehicles accordingly, the receiver and the antenna still have to be installed and connected.
