Function requirements:

Function with automated transmission 716

By engaging the reverse gear, the gear recognition switch (S16/10) transmits the signal "reverse gear" directly to the automated manual transmission control unit (N15/6). The automated manual transmission control unit (N15/6) passes on the signal "reverse gear" over CAN-C (CAN-C) to the EIS control unit (N73). This forwards the signal over CAN-B (CAN-B) to the rear SAM control unit (N10/8). The rear SAM control unit (N10/8) actuates the left backup lamp (E3e3) and the right backup lamp (E4e3).

Function with automatic transmission 722

The electronic selector lever module control unit (N15/5), when the selector lever is in position "R", transmits over CAN-C (CAN-C) the signal "reverse gear" to the EIS control unit (N73). This forwards the signal over CAN-B (CAN-B) to the rear SAM control unit (N10/8). The rear SAM control unit (N10/8) actuates the left backup lamp (E3e3) and the right backup lamp (E4e3).

IMPORTANT In order to avoid brief illumination of the left backup lamp (E3e3) and the right backup lamp (E4e3), on operating the selector lever from position "P" to "D" over position "R", the message of the EIS control unit (N73) is filtered out for 0.5 ms.
