	Remove/Install
	Notes on avoiding damage to electronic components due to electrostatic discharge		AH54.00-P-0001-01A
1.1	Transfer basic data from the COMAND operating, display and control unit (A40/3) into STAR DIAGNOSIS	Only when replacing the COMAND operating, display and control unit (A40/3). Installation:  Transfer basic data from STAR DIAGNOSIS into the COMAND operating, display and control unit (A40/3).
	Connect STAR DIAGNOSIS and read out fault memory		AD00.00-P-2000-04A
		STAR DIAGNOSIS system	*WH58.30-Z-1048-13A
2	Remove cover on center console		AR68.20-P-2350R
3	Remove bolts (1)
4	Pull COMAND operating, display and control unit (A40/3) out of instrument panel	Pull out COMAND operating, display and control unit (A40/3) until the electrical connector, the antenna line, and the fiber optic cable connector are accessible.
5	Disconnect electrical connectors and antenna line on rear of COMAND operating, display and control unit (A40/3)
6	Disconnect fiber optic cable connector on rear of COMAND operating, display and control unit (A40/3) and cover fiber optic cable connector and device connector	Do not kink fiber optic cable, route over sharp edges or route in radii smaller than 25 mm to prevent damaging the fiber optic cable.
		Cover fiber optic cable	AR82.95-P-0005-01A
7	Install in the reverse order
8	Check COMAND operating, display and control unit (A40/3) for proper function
