Networking of components
The following lights are switched on/off under the same conditions:
- Ashtray illumination (E9/7)
- Cigar lighter illumination (R3e1)
- Stowage compartment lighting (E36)
- Right footwell lamp (E17/15)
- Left footwell lamp (E17/16)
Switching on the lights
- manually, by switching the parking light or driving light on with the exterior lamp switch (S1) or
- automatically, if the automatic headlamp on control is activated at the instrument cluster (A1) and night has been detected.
Switching the lights off
- The lamps are switched off immediately after the requirements stated above no longer exist, or in the case of undervoltage or overvoltage.
Data required:
- Status of circuit 58d of instrument cluster (A1)
Actuation of the remaining lamps
The lamps are actuated by the passenger-side SAM control module (N10/11) .
The control module actuates the lamps as soon as the CAN message on/off ratio circuit 58d > 5% is received from the instrument cluster (A1). The lamps cannot be dimmed.
Data required:
- Status of circuit 58d of instrument cluster (A1)
- With the exception of the cigar lighter illumination (R3e1), illumination is provided by LEDs.
- Only the switch lighting can be dimmed. The setting is performed using the instrument lighting dimmer and reset button (A1r1).
