1. Mount stamping guide onto crossmember under the right rear seat.

   The push springs that are included are not required.

   The stamping guide must be aligned to the vehicle longitudinal axis (arrow B), so that the vehicle identification number and the possible replacement number (arrow C) can be stamped next to each other.

2. Place stamping guide in vehicle transverse axis (arrow A) and fasten nuts.

The anvil must be positioned evenly on the metal flange.

The cross member below the rear seat is made out of high strength steel sheet. For this reason, use an appropriately heavy hammer when stamping the vehicle identification number. Stamp with powerful, short hammer blows.
