IMPORTANT SBC message in instrument cluster: IMPORTANT To restart the vehicle: ↓
"Apply brakes immediately!"  (on vehicles with Sequentronic)
or
1 Move selector lever to position "P" or "N" and press brake pedal until display message disappears and SBC-Hold function is deactivated.
"Shift selector lever to P"  (on vehicles with automatic transmission) IMPORTANT Here, it is necessary to apply at least as much pressure to the brake as previously when the SBC-Hold feature was activated.
IMPORTANT In addition, the vehicle cannot start in each case and an acoustic warning sound is given. After a certain time, the vehicle horn outputs a regular honking sound, in addition.
IMPORTANT This is not a system error message, but rather a request for the driver to actuate the brake pedal. IMPORTANT Valid for Germany only: ↓
The message appears if, when the SBC-Hold function has been activated:
  • the driver's door is opened
  • the ignition is switched off
  • the engine hood is opened
  • a malfunction is present in the system or in the voltage supply.
Just as previously, every complaint regarding the SBC system is to be reported to the SBC Diagnosis Center in Berlin under the telephone no. 01805-812-784 as well as customer complaints on this subject.
IMPORTANT This is a safety feature, because the hold function does not replace the park pawl or the parking brake and the holding function with the SBC-Hold is no longer guaranteed in the event of a power failure or low voltage.
