The wiper motor (M6/1) consists of the components motor and gear with cam switch :
Motor :
This motor is a DC motor with three brushes .
The wiper motor (M6/1) runs at different speeds depending on the power supply to the various pairs of brushes.
The power is supplied to the motor by two relays .
Cam switch
The cam switch is closed when the motor is not running. At the beginning of a wiping operation , the cam switch opens and closes again when the non-actuated position is reached again. In this manner, signal c. 31b is generated.
The c. 31b signal allows the connected control module to recognize:
- whether the motor is operating correctly
- whether the motor is locked up
- whether the motor is in the non-actuated position.
