Remove/install front global positioning system (GPS) antenna - AR82.62-P-8976R

MODEL 230.4 

- with CODE (352) COMAND operating and display system 

- with CODE (512) COMAND APS with DVD changer 

- with CODE (527) COMAND APS (with navigation) 

- with CODE (855) TELE AID

REMOVING Removing    
NOTES Information on preventing damage to electronic components due to electrostatic discharge   AH54.00-P-0001-01A
1 Loosen paneling at top of wind deflector until GPS antenna (A2/23) is accessible IMPORTANT Place overhead control panel control unit with electrical lines still connected together with paneling on wind deflector to one side. AR68.30-P-4250R
2 Disconnect electrical connector (1)    
3 Warm up windshield in area of GPS antenna (A2/23) and remove GPS antenna (A2/23) with long wedge NOTES Carefully detach GPS antenna (A2/23) to avoid damaging the windshield.

    COMMERCIALLY AVAILABLE TOOLS *WH58.30-Z-1004-20A 
4 Expose antenna line (2), disconnect GPS antenna connector (X39/35) and remove GPS antenna (A2/23) Pay attention to antenna line (2) installation position for subsequent installation.
INSTALLING Install     
5 Clean bonding surface for GPS antenna (A2/23) on windshield IMPORTANT The bonding surface must be clean and free of grease.  
    Cleaner *BR00.45-Z-1007-04A 
6 Detach protective foil from GPS antenna (A2/23) and glue GPS antenna (A2/23) on windshield IMPORTANT Ensure correct installation position and tight seating of GPS antenna (A2/23) on windshield.  
7 Route antenna line (2) and connect GPS antenna connector (X39/35) IMPORTANT Observe installation position of antenna line (2).
8 Connect electrical connector (1)    
9 Secure paneling to top of wind deflector   AR68.30-P-4250R
