Inner constant-velocity joint on rear halfshaft, extraction and pressing on - AR35.30-P-0660-02I
| Shell halves (2 ea.) for pressing off and caulking the inner constant velocity joint. | WF58.50-P-3530-01A |
- Measure and note distance (a) from end face of propeller shaft to constant velocity joint.
Distance (a) is usually approx. 4.0 mm to 4.3 mm.
Pressing off
- Press off constant velocity joint using the shop-made shell halves (063a) and the
drift (063).
- Clean constant velocity joints.
Pressing on
- Fit constant velocity joint on rear axle shaft so that the collar (arrow) points towards the center of the rear axle shaft.
Mount the clamping jaws (067) on the boot collar of the rear axle shaft (arrow).
- Place rear axle shaft with clamping jaws (067) on the press.
- Press on constant velocity joint all the way using
drift (063).
- Press on constant velocity joint using a suitable tube until the previously measured and noted distance (a) has been reached.
Dimension (a) is usually approx. 4.0 mm to 4.3 mm.
