Rear air conditioning box function - GF83.50-P-2102-02M

Rear air conditioning normal mode

Rear air conditioning normal mode

Function

In normal mode, recirculated air (A) is drawn out of the vehicle interior by the blower (1) when the rear air conditioning is switched off. The recirculated air (A) flows through the uncooled evaporator (2). Then the recirculated air (A) is led through the unheated heater heat exchanger (3) and, depending on the position of the air distribution flap (5), to the air outlets (4 and 6).

Rear air conditioning cooling mode

Fig 2: Identifying Rear Air Conditioning Cooling Mode

Rear air conditioning cooling mode

Function

In cooling mode, recirculated air (A) is drawn out of the vehicle interior by the blower (1) when the rear air conditioning is switched on. The recirculated air (A) flows through the cooled evaporator (2) and is cooled down. Then the dried and cooled air (B) is led through the unheated heater heat exchanger (3) and, depending on the position of the air distribution flap (5), to the air outlets (4, 6).

If the rear footwell cooling is adjusted via the rear air conditioning air distribution regulator, the footwell flaps for the rear footwell on the front automatic air conditioning box are closed automatically.

The condensation water is led off into the atmosphere via the condensation water drain (7).

Rear air conditioning heating mode

Fig 3: Identifying Rear Air Conditioning Heating Mode

Rear air conditioning heating mode

Function

In heating mode, recirculated air (A) is drawn out of the vehicle interior by the blower (1) when the rear air conditioning is switched on. The recirculated air (A) flows through the cooled evaporator (2) and is cooled down there. Then the dried and cooled air (B) is heated up through the heated heater heat exchanger (3). The heated air (C) is led to the air outlets (4, 6) depending on the position of the air distribution flap (5).

The condensation water is led off into the atmosphere via the condensation water drain (7).
