Tire pressure monitor (TPM), messages relevant to the function - GF40.15-P-0001-04E

Models 215, 220 as of 1.9.02 up to 30.9.03 with code (475) tire pressure monitor

Messages relevant to the function in the multifunction display (A1p13) of the instrument cluster (A1) indicate to the driver a system state in which no current tire pressures and also no messages relevant to the operation are displayed.

Message relevant to the function are divided into:

The following messages relevant to the function can occur:

System faults are stored in the TPM [RDK] control unit (N88) with a fault code and system messages with an event code.

IMPORTANT System messages describe a regular operating condition and in the case of a fault there is no reason to exchange system components.

System fault(s)

This message appears in the event of faults in the CAN data bus, in the event of failure of a system component or at least 1 wheel is fitted without a TPM wheel sensor (A69/1, A69/2, A69/3, A69/4). A corresponding fault code is stored in the TPM control unit (N88).

IMPORTANT The message can also be displayed in diagnostic mode, but has no relevance to this.

System fault(s)

This message is issued by the instrument cluster (A1), if it does not receive any CAN messages from the TPM [RDK] control unit (N88).

In addition this message appears in the event of cable discontinuities or a connector which has fallen off the TPM [RDK] control unit (N88).

IMPORTANT If the connector is separated from the TPM [RDK] control unit (N88) when the ignition is On and then plugged in again, the message opposite likewise appears.

System fault(s)

This system message is activated for the following criteria:

System message

Request for system activation.

This system message is displayed if:

IMPORTANT This system message is also displayed for approx. 30 seconds each time the vehicle is restarted, as soon as in the TPM [RDK] control unit (N88) the monitoring function has been set to "Not active".

System message

This system message appears once the tire pressure monitor (TPM) is reactivated.

System message

This system message is activated for the following criteria:

IMPORTANT The system message is displayed for a temporary fault in the tire pressure monitor (TPM) system. No repairs are necessary.

System message

The pressure values are only shown following activation, once the system has detected a clear assignment. Until the teach-in process is finished (total driving time approx.10 minutes) only the system message opposite is displayed instead of pressure values.

The transmitter key (A8/1) is in the position circuit 15R On.

The current pressure values are only displayed with circuit 15 On or when the engine is running.
