Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) Deployment Logic - GF91.60-P-0002-08M
In the event of a crash, the restraint systems control module (N2/7) decides which airbag units and which emergency tensioning retractor units trigger.
The following input parameters are considered:
- Acceleration values of the sensors integrated in the restraint systems control module (N2/7)
as well as the acceleration values of the external:
- Left side airbag and window airbag sensor (A53/1)
- Right side airbag and window airbag sensor (A54/1)
- Driver-side frontal acceleration sensor (B48/1)
- Passenger-side frontal acceleration sensor (B48/2)
also for front seats:
- Control state of the restraint systems switch/left front buckle (S68/3)
- Control state of the restraint systems switch/right front buckle (S68/4)
and additionally, for the front passenger seat, the:
- Passenger seat occupied via passenger seat occupied and child seat recognition sensor (B48)
As a "function check" is not possible for the supplemental restraint system, we will refrain here from providing a description of the individual triggering strategies. Beyond this, the triggering strategies are also subject to modifications, such as, e.g. those which result from new knowledge gained in the area of accident research.
