Switching on ignition and starting engine

When the ignition is switched on, the LEDs in the comfort and sport and level adjustment switches light up and when the engine is running indicate the setting selected prior to "ignition OFF".

Display evaluation

In the event of malfunctions in the ABC system, one of the following messages appears on the multifunction display in the instrument cluster, depending on the importance of the fault: "ABC VISIT WORKSHOP!  " or "ABC DRIVE CAREFULLY!  "

If no CAN data transfer is possible, the message "DISPLAY FAULT VISIT WORKSHOP!  " appears.

The fault is stored in the ABC control module and can be retrieved using the diagnostic tool.

If the vehicle level is more than 64 mm lower than normal level, the multifunction display in the instrument cluster shows the warning: "ABC STOP, CAR TOO LOW  ". The display disappears when the vehicle level returns to 64 mm below normal level.

Emergency running mode

A malfunction in the ABC causes the system to shut down.

Depending on the type of fault, the system attempts to maintain at least some of its component functions. Manual and automatic level adjustment are no longer possible.

Comfort and sport switch (N72/1s3)

The comfort and sport switch is used to switch between two performance maps. In the sport position, the red indicator lamp (LED) in the switch (N72/1s3) lights up.

This can be used to raise the vehicle level in 2 stages by 25 mm or 50 mm (USA ONLY 20 mm or 30 mm). The raised level switch position is indicated by the red indicator lamps (LEDs) in the switch (N72/1s2).
