2	Detach heat shield (6) for propeller shaft behind the transfer case (16).
3	Detach rear propeller shaft from transfer case (16)	Flexible disk remains on propeller shaft.
4	Loosen fitted sleeves of flexible coupling and push back propeller shaft	If the fitted sleeves are jammed: ↓ Detach fitting sleeves from flexible couplings.

7	Clean the area around the screw plugs (7a, 7b)	Clean all screw plugs.
8	Unscrew screw plug from oil drain opening (7c), drain oil	The vehicle must be horizontal during the oil change. Only carry out the oil change when the transfer case (16) is at operating temperature. Collect the oil using a suitable container and allow to drain off completely.

9	Unscrew screw plug from check opening (7b) and screw plug from oil filler opening (7a), pour in oil	Add oil via the oil filler opening until it runs out of the inspection opening. Let oil escape for roughly 1 to 2 min. and then turn in the screw plug (7b) of the inspection opening and tighten.
