| Whenever a suspension strut is replaced, the relevant plunger travel sensor must be calibrated with STAR DIAGNOSIS. | |||
| 1 | Remove cover (41e) and make a cut in the foam insert underneath | ||
| 2 | Separate electrical connector for left or right rear plunger travel sensor (B22/1, B22/6) behind cover (41e) | ||
| 3 | Unscrew nuts (41f, 41g) on suspension strut (41) | *BA32.25-P-1004-04B | |
| 4 | Raise vehicle with lifting platform | ||
| 5 | Remove rear wheel | ||
| Remove and install wheels | AP40.10-P-4050Z | ||
| 6 | Open bleed screw (57) and depressurize spring strut (41) | ||
| 7 | Remove the quick-release fitting (41a) of the hydraulic line | ||
| 8 | Detach brake caliper with brake pads from rear axle | AR42.10-P-0080I | |
| 9 | Remove cover under spring control arm (72) | ||
| 10 | Unfasten bolted connection (41c, 41d) between suspension strut (41) and spring control arm (72) | *BA32.25-P-1005-04B | |
| 11 | Press spring control arm (72) downwards and remove suspension strut (41) | ||
| Dispose of strut. | OS32.25-P-0122-01N | ||
| 12 | Install in the reverse order | ||
| 13 | Fill and bleed active body control (ABC) | AR32.50-P-0021N | |
| Risk of accident caused by vehicle starting off by itself when engine is running. Risk of injury caused by contusions and burns when working in engine during starting procedure | Secure vehicle to prevent it from moving. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not grasp hot or rotating parts. |
