Remove, replace and install rear center seat belt - AR91.40-P-0683M

MODELS 220.0 /1 except CODE (224c) Electrically adjustable rear single seats, with seat ventilation, seat heater and memory package

REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
DANGER The spring in the inertia reel can pose an injury hazard  when the tension is released and it uncoils. Never disassemble inertia reels AS91.00-Z-0002-01A
DANGER Risk of injury.  Injuries may result when performing testing or repair work on airbag or emergency tensioning retractor units. Store airbag unit with expulsion area on top, do not subject to temperatures above 100 °C. When working on these units, disconnect the power supply. AS91.00-Z-0001-01A
1 Remove rear seat backrest With electrically adjustable rear bench seat, code 223b. AR91.12-P-1620M 
    Without electrically adjustable rear bench seat, code 223b. AR91.12-P-1620MA 
2 Remove rear shelf   AR68.30-P-4580M
3 Fold up insulating mat under left rear seat    
4 Undo screw (4) on belt end fitting/buckle left (6), remove clamping bracket (5) and belt end fitting with buckle IMPORTANTInstallation:  check catch of clamping bracket  
    SPECIAL TOOL Torque wrench. Figure
    TORQUE SPECIFICATION Screw on belt end fitting *BA91.40-P-1001-01A 
5 Unscrew belt guide (1)    
6 Unscrew bolt (3) at automatic belt retractor (2) SPECIAL TOOL Torque wrench. Figure
    TORQUE SPECIFICATION Bolt to rear automatic belt retractor *BA91.40-P-1006-01A 
7 Remove automatic belt reel (2) IMPORTANTInstallation:  check that catch is properly located. Noises from the automatic belt reel when rolling up belt are normal. The only available response to negative customer feedback regarding unacceptable noise levels is to replace the seat belt assembly with emergency tensioning retractor in its entirety.
NOTES Never use oil or grease for eliminating noises.
Automatic belt retractors that have been opened are no longer under warranty!
 
8 Install in the reverse order
