Adjust automatic brake adjuster. - AR42.10-P-0169-01GG

MODEL 463 with drum brakes at the rear axle

The adjustment must always be carried out at both wheel brakes of the rear axle.

1. Turn stop plug (1) 90° and remove.
2. Remove stop plug (2).
3. Position relevant test piece of a feeler gauge through inspection hole between brake shoe (3) and brake drum.
4. By turning adjusting screw (4), press brake shoe (3) outwards until clearance is achieved.

   Use suitable screwdriver.

5. Remove test piece of feeler gauge from inspection hole.
6. Repeat steps  3 to  5 at opposite brake shoe.
7. Apply hand and foot brake several times.
8. Check clearance again at both brake shoes (3) using appropriate feeler gauge and correct if necessary.

   The clearance must be observed.

9. Turn brake drum by hand.

   The brake drum must rotate freely without resistance. Minor grinding noises are safe.

10. Install stop plug (1) and turn 90°.
11. Install stop plug (2).
