REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
DANGER Risk of death  caused by vehicle slipping or toppling off of the lifting platform. Align vehicle between the columns of the hydraulic hoist and position the four support plates below the hoist support points specified by the vehicle manufacturer. AS00.00-Z-0010-01A
NOTES Notes on self-locking nuts and bolts   AH00.00-N-0001-01A
IMPORTANTInstallation  Tighten nuts and bolts of chassis components only in curb condition.    
1 Fully discharge all air from air spring (1) using STAR DIAGNOSIS NOTES Failure to install and charge the air spring in accordance with official instructions can lead to damage and subsequent failure. AR32.22-P-1500-04TA 
    NOTES Notes on air suspension AH32.22-P-1000-01T 
    NOTESInstall:  Always observe the charging process for the air spring, otherwise you will cause irreparable damage: ↓  
    Charge air spring with STAR DIAGNOSIS at design level. AR32.22-P-1500-03TA

2 Loosen tie straps (2)    
3 Disconnect pressure line (3) from air spring (1) IMPORTANT Plug the pressure line with blind plug for the duration of the repair operations.
If pressure line or its connection fittings are damaged: ↓
 
    Repair supply line connection for air suspension. AR32.22-P-2001-01T 
    TORQUE SPECIFICATION *BA32.25-P-1006-04B

    IMPORTANTInstallation:  If a new air spring is installed, detach screw connection from the pressure line. Do to this, pull off screw head and insert pressure line up to marking in connection of new air spring. Pull back the pressure line slightly so that the continuous retaining edges inside the clamping ring can engage in the outer surface of the line.  
4 Disconnect electrical connector (4)    
5 Remove cover (5) from spring link (6)    
6 Detach air spring (1) from spring link (6) IMPORTANTInstallation:  Tighten the air spring's threaded connection on the spring link loosely.  
7 Detach tie rod (7) from wheel carrier (8) TORQUE SPECIFICATION *BA35.20-P-1001-04C 
8 Pry air spring (1) off frame floor using assembly lever IMPORTANT The retaining clip of the air spring is destroyed in the process.
IMPORTANTInstallation:  Slide the air spring onto the retaining clip on the frame floor, continuing until it latches (snaps) into place. The air spring must be aligned straight and must not have any kinks.
 
9 Press the air spring (1) upwards out of the spring control arm (6) and press the tie rod (7) downwards and take out the air spring (1) backwards (arrow) NOTES Do not twist the air spring as this produces creases in the air bellows which will result in certain failure at a later date.  
    IMPORTANTInstallation:  If the old air spring is used again, any parts of the destroyed retaining clip must be removed from the air spring:↓  
    Replacing retaining clip AR32.22-P-1500-02TA 
INSPECT Check     
10 Check condition of air spring (1)   AR32.22-P-1500-05TA 
11 Install in the reverse sequence
