Detach rear end - AR64.20-P-1020-01CW

  1. Expose spot welds on rear end (1) (areas A, B, C, D, E and F).
  2. Cut out spot welds on rear end (1) using SPECIAL TOOL spot weld milling cutter or COMMERCIALLY AVAILABLE TOOLS ball cutter (areas A, B, C, D, E and F).

  3. Cut out spot welds on rear end (1) using SPECIAL TOOL spot weld milling cutter or COMMERCIALLY AVAILABLE TOOLS ball cutter (areas G, H, I, J, K, L, M, N, O and P).

    IMPORTANT Cut out through two sheet metal thicknesses (areas K and P).

  4. Bend sheet metal lugs (arrows) on connecting area of rear fender to rear end (1) toward outside.
  5. Remove damaged rear end (1).
  6. Grind mating surfaces on body down to bare metal in cross-hatched areas using COMMERCIALLY AVAILABLE TOOLS round wire brush.

    IMPORTANT Grind spot weld flanges down to bare metal on both sides.

  7. Remove sanding dust using wet/dry vacuum cleaner.
  8. Coat insides of spot weld flanges with zinc dust paint.
