REMOVING Removing    
DANGER Risk of injury  to skin and eyes caused by scalding from contact with hot coolant spray.
Risk of poisoning  from swallowing coolant.
Do not open cooling system unless coolant temperature is below 90°C. Open cap slowly and release the pressure. Do not pour coolant into beverage containers.
Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and safety glasses.

DANGER Risk of injury  caused by fingers being pinched or crushed  when removing, installing or aligning hoods, doors, trunk lids, tailgates or sliding roof. Keep body parts and limbs well clear of moving parts. AS00.00-Z-0011-01A
1 Open engine hood Model 209 AR88.40-P-1000Q
    Model 211 AR88.40-P-1000T
    Model 219 AR88.40-P-1000TX
2 Open the cap of the coolant expansion reservoir (1) IMPORTANT Turn the cap slowly and release the excess pressure, then unscrew the cap.  
3 Check coolant level and antifreeze content coolant. IMPORTANT If the antifreeze share of the coolant is too small, either antifreeze must be added or the coolant must be replaced: ↓  
    Drain, fill system with coolant. AR20.00-P-1142TMG

4 Screw on test cap (2) at coolant expansion reservoir (1). SPECIAL TOOL Test cap Figure
5 Connect pressure pump (3) at test cap (2) SPECIAL TOOL Pressure pump Figure
6 Apply test pressure to cooling system NOTES To prevent damage to the cooling system, do not exceed the stated test pressure  
    Test pressure for pressure-testing cooling system *BE20.30-P-1005-01A 
INSPECT Checking     
7 Check hose clamps for condition and seating IMPORTANT Tighten hose clamps as necessary; replace if necessary.  
    SPECIAL TOOL Hose clamp pliers Fig 4

    COMMERCIALLY AVAILABLE TOOLS 7 mm socket hexagon *WH58.30-Z-1002-06A 
INSTALLING Install     
8 Check coolant hoses and heater hoses and their connecting points for condition and coolant loss IMPORTANT Replace coolant hoses and heater hoses if required.  
9 Unscrew test cap (2) at coolant expansion reservoir (1). IMPORTANT Slowly unscrew test cap (2) and reduce excess pressure.  
10 Remove pressure pump (3) from test cap (2)    
11 Screw cap onto coolant expansion reservoir (1)    
12 Close engine hood Model 209 AR88.40-P-1000Q
    Model 211 AR88.40-P-1000T
    Model 219 AR88.40-P-1000TX
