REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/Install
DANGER Risk of death  caused by vehicle slipping or toppling off of the lifting platform. Align vehicle between the columns of the lifting platform and position the four support plates below the hoist support points specified by the vehicle manufacturer. AS00.00-Z-0010-01A
NOTES Notes on self-locking nuts and bolts   AH00.00-N-0001-01A
IMPORTANTInstallation  Tighten nuts and bolts of chassis components only when vehicle is in the ready-to-drive condition.
1 Reduce pressure in the front suspension struts (40) using STAR DIAGNOSIS STAR DIAGNOSIS diagnosis system *WH58.30-Z-1048-13A
    IMPORTANTInstallation:  Recharge to 5 bar.
NOTES The wheels must not touch the ground while pressurizing because the air bellows in the suspension strut (40) will be destroyed if pressurized with the suspension compressed.

NOTES Special information on AIRmatic   AH32.22-P-1000-02I
2 Raise vehicle with lifting platform
3 Remove front wheels
REFER TO MAINTENANCE Remove and install wheels   AP40.10-P-4050Z

5 Disconnect the left front axle electrical distributor, major assembly compartment (X62/7) IMPORTANT Plug connection of shock absorber valve unit and rpm sensor
6 Disconnect left front brake pad contact sensor connector (S10/1x1)
DANGER Risk of poisoning  caused by swallowing brake fluid. Risk of injury caused by brake fluid coming into contact with skin and eyes. Pour brake fluid only into suitable and appropriately marked containers. Wear protective clothing and eye protection when handling brake fluid. AS42.50-Z-0001-01A
7 Detach brake line from brake hose (39) and plug openings IMPORTANT When loosening or tightening the brake line at the brake hose (39) ensure that the bracket is not twisted. When loosening and tightening, counterhold at two flats on brake hose using an open-end wrench.
IMPORTANT Immediately seal the connections with SPECIAL TOOL stop plugs. The brake fluid expansion reservoir must not be allowed to run completely empty.
