Checking oil pressure of power steering pump - AR46.30-P-0100N

MODEL 215.374 /378, 220.074 /174 /178 with CODE (487a) Active body control (ABC)

REMOVING Remove     
1 Detach left air intake duct.    
2 Clamp off feed line (30f) from power steering pump supply reservoir with clamp (08) SPECIAL TOOL Clamp Fig 3
3 Detach bracket of power steering pump/ABC reservoir (28a) (arrows) and put to one side forwards IMPORTANT Fastened with two nuts and one bolt. Do not disconnect the lines from the reservoir.  
4 Unscrew the high-pressure expansion hose (30i) from the power-steering pump (30).    
5 Attach connection (040a) to high-pressure expansion hose (30i) SPECIAL TOOL Connection, part 11 Figure
6 Attach connecting hose (040c) to power-steering pump (30). SPECIAL TOOL Connecting hose, part 16 Figure
7 Connect tester (039) between connection (040a) and connecting hose (040c) SPECIAL TOOL Tester Figure
8 Remove clamp (08) from supply line (30f).    
9 Fill supply reservoir    
REFER TO MAINTENANCE     AP46.00-P-4611N
DANGER Risk of accident from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury from bruises and burns if you hold your hand into engine when it is started or when it is running. Secure vehicle to prevent it moving off.
Wear closed and close-fitting work clothes.
Do not grasp hot or rotating parts.

10 Engine ON    
11 Increase engine speed to approx. 1000 rpm    
INSPECT Check     
12 Close throttle cock (039a) and check maximum service pressure NOTES Test should only be conducted briefly to ensure that the oil temperature does not rise beyond its permitted level. *BE46.30-P-1001-01B 
13 Engine OFF    
14 Unclamp supply line (30f) from power-steering pump reservoir. SPECIAL TOOL Clamp Fig 3
15 Disconnect tester (039)    
16 Detach connection (040a) and connecting hose (040c)    
INSTALLING Install     
17 Check O-ring on high-pressure expansion hose (30i) and replace if necessary    
18 Screw high pressure stretch hose (30i) onto power steering pump TORQUE SPECIFICATION *BA46.30-P-1003-01C 
19 Install bracket on power-steering pump/ABC reservoir (028a) (arrows).    
20 Remove clamp (08) from supply line (30f).    
21 Fill power steering pump and bleed   AR46.30-P-0010N 
22 Check power steering pump for leaks INSPECT Visual inspection  
23 Install left-side air intake duct.
