DANGER Injury hazard  when testing or repairing airbags or emergency tensioning retractors Store airbags with opening surface pointing up, do not expose to temperatures above 100 °C. Interrupt electric circuit when working on these units AS91.00-Z-0001-01A

1 Rear seat backrest   AR91.12-P-1620MA 
2 Remove paneling from C-pillar   AR68.30-P-4490N
3 Remove inner side wall paneling   AR68.30-P-1450N
4 Unscrew nuts (3) from window airbag (4) TORQUE SPECIFICATION *BA91.60-P-1005-01A 
5 Pull out window airbag (4) NOTES Pull window airbag out only until screw (5) is accessible on upper belt guide fitting (6)  
6 Unscrew screw (5) on upper belt guide fitting (6) SPECIAL TOOL Figure
    TORQUE SPECIFICATION *BA91.40-P-1005-01A 
7 Unscrew screw (1) on upper belt end fitting (6) and guide belt out of cover (10) IMPORTANTInstallation:  Ensure that belt end fitting is arrested

8 Disconnect connector (9) from left/right ETR ignition squibs (R12/6, /12/7)    
9 Unscrew screw (7) from belt reel (8) IMPORTANTInstallation:  Ensure that belt reel is arrested

10 Remove belt reel (8) IMPORTANTInstallation:  Pay attention to different versions of emergency tensioning retractors (for left and right sides) and ensure that retractor is properly seated in arresting device.
Noises from the automatic belt reel when rolling up the seat belt are normal operating noises. If complaints are received, unreasonable noises can be eliminated only by replacing the seat belt together with the emergency tensioning retractor
 
    NOTES Never attempt to eliminate noises by lubricating with oil or grease.
Opening emergency tensioning retractors invalidates the warranty. If a seat belt with emergency tensioning retractor is replaced, dispose of the defective parts properly. ↓
