Remove/install rear seat belts - AR91.40-P-0681MC

MODELS 220.175 /178 with CODE (Z04) Light armoring with CODE (Z07) Top protection

REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
DANGER Injury hazard  due to the spring releasing on the automatic belt retractor Never dismantle inertia reels AS91.00-Z-0002-01A
DANGER Injury hazard  during test or repair work on airbag units or emergency tensioning retractor units Store airbag unit with expulsion area on top, do not subject to temperatures above 100 °C. Interrupt power supply when working on such units. AS91.00-Z-0001-01A
NOTES Important instructions for performing repair, body work and welding on vehicles with airbag and emergency belt tensioner units   AH91.00-P-0002-01M

1 Remove parcel shelf With code (Z04) Light armoring AR68.30-P-4580MC
    With code (Z07) Maximum protection AR68.30-P-4580MB
2 Withdraw ignition key    
3 Unscrew bolt (3) on belt guide bracket (4) TORQUE SPECIFICATION *BA91.40-P-1010-01A 
4 Unscrew bolt (5) from seat belt guide bracket (6) IMPORTANT With code (Z07) Maximum protection:
Pay attention to the spacer sleeve under the seat belt guide bracket.
 
    TORQUE SPECIFICATION *BA91.40-P-1005-01A 
5 Unscrew bolt (1) from belt end fitting (2) IMPORTANTInstallation:  Pay attention to the locking of the belt end fitting.  
    TORQUE SPECIFICATION *BA91.40-P-1001-01A 
6 Disconnect the coupling on the left rear ETR ignition squib (R12/6) or right rear ETR ignition squib (R12/7)    
7 Disconnect the coupling from the left rear seat belt comfort-fit solenoid (K18/6) or right rear seat belt comfort-fit solenoid (K18/7)    
8 Unscrew bolt (7) on automatic belt retractor (8) IMPORTANTInstallation:  Pay attention to the locking of the automatic belt retractor (8).  
    TORQUE SPECIFICATION *BA91.40-P-1006-01A 
9 Remove inertia reel (8) If the automatic belt retractor (8) is replaced, the defective one must be disposed of properly: ↓  
REFER TO FORMS   Notes regarding the disposal of airbag and belt tensioner units OS91.00-P-0001-01A
10 Install in the reverse order    
11 Read out fault memory    
REFER TO SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEMS Connect STAR DIAGNOSIS and interrogate fault memory   AD00.00-P-2000-04A
    Diagnosis system STAR DIAGNOSIS *WH58.30-Z-1048-13A
