Removing and installing evaporator - AR83.30-P-5540M

REMOVINGINSTALLING Removing, installing     
DANGER Risk of explosion  through welding or soldering operations on closed air conditioning system. Risk of poisoning  through inhaling overheated refrigerant vapors. Risk of injury  through skin and eye contact with fluid coolant Do not carry out welding operations on closed air conditioning system or around it. Smoking and naked flame are forbidden. Wear protective glasses and protective gloves, work only in well ventilated areas. Only carry out repair operations on air conditioning circuit with system drained. AS83.00-Z-0001-01A
NOTES Procedure with damaged or leaking air conditioning system   AH83.30-N-0004-01A
NOTES Protect air conditioning circuit and components from dampness when carrying out repair operations   AH83.30-N-0005-01A
IMPORTANT Notes for handling refrigerant R134a   AH83.30-N-0003-01A
1 Drain air conditioning system (recycling), purge, fill, check for leaks NOTES When evacuating refrigerant, the quantity of compressor oil evacuated must be added again to refrigerant circuit when refilling air conditioning (new oil)  
2 Remove evaporator housing (1)   AR83.30-P-5200M 
3 Remove heat exchanger   AR83.25-P-1100M 
4 Detach stepper motors connections (4)    
5 Detach 2 clamps (2)    
6 Detach 4 clips (3)    
7 Detach stepper motors connections (5)    
8 Detach 7 clips (6)    
9 Detach 7 clips (7)    
10 Remove air distributor, upper section (8)    
11 Detach evaporator core (9) Clean air distributor, lower section  
    IMPORTANTInstallation:  Note oil top-up quantity when replacing evaporator *BF83.55-P-1004-01A 
12 Unscrew screws (10) IMPORTANTInstallation:  Tighten screws alternately to avoid jamming  
    TORQUE SPECIFICATION *BA83.30-P-1002-01A 
13 Detach expansion valve (11) NOTES Close off openings (parts kit), replace O-rings (4) (moisten with compressor oil)  
14 Replace fluid reservoir   AR83.30-P-6520M 
15 Install in the reverse order
