Eliminating radial runout - AR40.10-P-1025-01A

The radial runout at the tire must measure no more than max. 1.0 mm. With steel rims it may be possible to improve the relative positions of the tire and rim by turning the tire on the rim, but only if it is certain that there are no flat spots on the tire due to long parking or heavy braking.

Flat spots can be detected during driving by vibrations or knocking tire noise, and can be eliminated as follows:

1. Inflate the tires to a pressure of 4 bar and lay flat (not upright) in a paintshop drying booth for 4 hours at approx. 80 °C.
2. Leave the tires to cool, correct the air pressure, balance the wheels on a stationary balancer and rematch them if necessary.
