| Notes on measuring tire tread depth | AH40.10-P-0006-01T | ||
| For safety reasons, before reaching the minimum tread depth, - conventional summer tires with approx. 3 mm tread depth, - PAX system summer tires with 3 mm tread depth, and - winter tires with approx. 4 mm tread depth should be replaced. The main tread along the entire circumference must have a tread depth of at least 1.6 mm. Measure depth of tread at point of greatest wear. Conduct measurement on outside, inside and on the center of the main tread in the tread grooves with tread wear indicator (TWI). The stated tread depths are valid in the Federal Republic of Germany, differently phrased country-specific regulations must be observed accordingly. |
