Fault setting conditions |
Faults are detected in the stated sequence, where the deviation from the substitute value is too great:
- Fault in engine torque monitoring
- Fault in load detection monitoring
- Fault in cruise control pushbutton switch/cruise control variable monitoring
- Fault in brake light switch monitoring
- Fault in EGS monitoring
- Fault in Distronic monitoring
- Fault in ESP monitoring
- Fault in pedal value sensor signals monitoring
- Fault in actual value potentiometer throttle valve monitoring
- Fault in RPM signal monitoring
- Fault in ignition angle monitoring
- Fault in fault reaction of electronic accelerator monitoring
- Fault in monitoring of A/D converter for pedal value sensor signals.

Check prerequisites |
- Engine speed greater than 1300 RPM
- No CAN fault
- No pressure sensor fault downstream of throttle valve actuator (B28/7)
- No pressure sensor fault upstream of throttle valve actuator (B28/6)

- In the event of a fault, replace the ME-SFI [ME] control unit.
- Function monitoring protects the electronic accelerator pedal in order to exclude incorrect reactions such as sudden acceleration. The limp-home mode function is activated in the event of a fault
- Function monitoring in the ME-SFI [ME] control unit works in parallel and independently of the actual function computers. A fault is stored if deviations between the function monitoring and function computers become too large.
- A fault is stored for Distronic, ESP, ETC, stop lamp switch and selector lever module only if no faults have been detected at the associated components and CAN signals.
