Command valve jams in pressure position, ME-SFI fault code description - AD07.61-P-4000-28M

Transmission 722.6

The command valve is jamming in the pressure position.
1 Fault code
(Fault code according to OBD)
P206A (P0700)
2 Fault storage After expiry of test duration and fault
Actuation of engine diagnosis indicator lamp (EURO4) or CHECK ENGINE (MIL) USA ONLY Following two successive driving cycles with faults
3 Checking frequency Continuous
4 Checked signal or status Calculated gear ratio outside of tolerance
5 Fault setting conditions
Permissible deviation from respective gear ratio ± 0.20 1st/2nd gear
± 0.05 3rd gear
± 0.03 4th/5th gear
± 0.20 Reverse gear
  Checking duration approx. 2 seconds
6 Check prerequisites
  • Engine speed greater than 400 RPM
  • Output shaft RPM greater than 180 RPM (about 20 km/hour)
  • No shift operation.
7 Check procedure After each shift operation the shift pressure is reduced slowly. Dragging for pressure release of the shift element, clamps the command valve in the pressure position. Dragging shift elements are recognized on the respective gear ratio.
8 IMPORTANT The gear ratios are calculated from the following parameters: RPM signal n2, RPM signal n3 and output shaft RPM (determined from the rear wheel speed).
Faults are detected by the EGS control unit (N15/3) and reported via the CAN data bus to the ME-SFI [ME] control unit (N3/10). Fault storage and actuation of the CHECK ENGINE indicator lamp (MIL) take place via the ME-SFI [ME] control unit.
Also read out the EGS fault memory.
