The door inside handle illumination (E17/11, E17/12) is designed to help the vehicle occupants locate the door inside handle.
Switching door inside handle illumination on:
- manually, by switching the parking light or driving light on with the exterior lamp switch (S1)
- by switching on circuit 15R
Switching door inside handle illumination off:
- The lighting is switched off automatically 5 minutes after the last request.
Actuation
The door inside handle illumination is operated through the output of the corresponding door control module (N69/1, N69/2). The door control modules are supplied with the following messages by the interior CAN for this purpose:
- Circuit 15R ON/OFF from EIS control module (N73)
- On/off ratio of circuit 58 d from instrument cluster (A1); circuit 58 d becomes active (on/off ratio > 12%) as soon as the instrument cluster (A1) receives the CAN message side lamps ON from the driver-side SAM control module (N10/10).
The door inside handle illumination (LEDs) cannot be dimmed.
