Function

The rotary light switch (S1) is turned to the "Low beam" position and signals the request "Low beam On" to the driver-side SAM control unit (N10/10).

The driver-side SAM control unit (N10/10), via the xenon headlamp control unit (E2n1) and the xenon headlamp ignition module (E2n2), actuates the right low beam (E2e2) in the right front lamp unit and at the same time transmits via CAN-B (CAN-B) the signal "Low beam On" to the passenger-side SAM control unit (N10/11).

The passenger-side SAM control unit (N10/11) actuates the left low beam (E1e2) in the left front lamp unit via the xenon headlamp control unit (E1n1) and the xenon headlamp ignition module (E1n2).

IMPORTANT The left standing and parking lamp and the right standing and parking lamp continue to be actuated with the left low beam (E1e2) and right low beam (E2e2) switched on. Actuation of the instrument cluster with the signal "Low beam On" triggers a chime when the transmitter key is removed and driver door is open.
