CD-player mode, function - GF82.60-P-2002RM

MODEL 230.467 /474 /475 as of 1.6.04 with CODE (527) COMAND APS (with navigation)

MODEL 230.476 as of 1.6.04

The COMAND operating, display and control unit (A40/3) is equipped with an integrated digital versatile disk (DVD) ROM drive, which supports the video DVD and is used for playing audio CDs.

CD changer mode (with code (819) CD changer (6-disc))

The CD player with changer (A2/6) is controlled by the COMAND operating, display and control unit (A40/3). The control and audio signals from the CD player with changer (A2/6) are transmitted by the Media Oriented System Transport (MOST), while the audio data are forwarded to the audio gateway control unit (N93/1) and to the sound amplifier (A2/13) (with code (810) Sound system), before they are output via the vehicle speakers.

IMPORTANT Only audio CDs with the appropriate file format can be used as a medium in the CD player with changer (A2/6).

In combination with the CD player with changer (A2/6), the following functions are available:

CD title allocation, function

Each CD contains a fixed table of contents (TOC entry). As a result, the COMAND operating, display and control unit (A40/3) recognizes the particular CD and is able to automatically name it after the onetime user allocation of the title (even if the CD is subsequently inserted in another CD magazine).

The table of contents (TOC record) additionally contains information regarding the number of titles on a CD and the CD's total playing time.

IMPORTANT If the vehicle is equipped with the sound amplifier (A2/13) (models 230.467/474/475 with code (810) Sound system), the COMAND operating, display and control unit (A40/3) must be coded appropriately with the aid of the STAR DIAGNOSIS. This is to prevent malfunctions in the reproduction of audio signals.
