MODIFICATION NOTES

4.3.03 Raise vehicle, newly recorded Step 6  
REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/Install     
DANGER Risk of explosion  caused by fuel igniting, risk of poisoning  caused by inhaling and swallowing fuel as well as risk of injury to eyes and skin caused by contact with fuel. No fire, sparks, open flames or smoking. Pour fuels only into suitable and appropriately marked containers.
Wear protective clothing when handling fuel.

1 Drain fuel tank (80)   AR47.10-P-4001B
    FLUID SPECIFICATION Pay attention to fuel quantity. *BF47.10-P-1001-01A 
2 Remove coverings in trunk Model 215, 220.0 /1 AR68.30-P-4600M
    Type 220.8 AR68.30-P-4600MP
3 Remove rear wall of fuel tank (80/1)    
4 Dismount lower mounting rails (80/23) of fuel tank rear wall (80/1) from trunk floor IMPORTANT Do not dismount upper mounting rails (80/23) at rear shelf.  
5 Take spare wheel out of spare wheel well    
DANGER Risk of death  cased by vehicle slipping or toppling off of the lifting platform. Align vehicle between the columns of the hydraulic hoist and position the four support plates below the hoist support points specified by the vehicle manufacturer. AS00.00-Z-0010-01A
6 Raise vehicle.    
7.1 Dismount fuel hose on the suction side with connecting pipe (90/12), fuel return hose (90/11), and fuel tank - activated charcoal canister line (gasoline engine) (D) IMPORTANT Vehicles with gasoline engine.
IMPORTANT Do not damage fuel filter-fuel tank degassing line (gasoline engine) (E).
IMPORTANT Collect remaining fuel, seal connections.
 
7.2 Dismount fuel hose on the suction side with connecting pipe (90/12), fuel return hose (90/11) and vent line (diesel engine) (76/1) IMPORTANT Vehicles with diesel engine.
IMPORTANT Collect remaining fuel, seal connections.

    TORQUE SPECIFICATION *BA47.10-P-1001-01E 
8 Take out fuel tank (80) INSPECT Inspect whether cup seals (75/4) can be re-used.  
9 Inspect sound deadening mat for damages    
10 Remove fuel strainer (26) IMPORTANT Clean and check for re-usability.
IMPORTANT The splash bowl in the fuel tank is secured against turning with 2 pins. It is attached together with the fuel strainer (26).
 
    TORQUE SPECIFICATION *BA47.10-P-1002-01E 
11 Replace O-ring (26/1) IMPORTANT Oil to facilitate installation.  
12 Install in the reverse order    
13.1 Dispose of fuel tank (80) When replacing fuel tank.
