Cross out incorrect vehicle identification number with "X" punch.
Move number punch guide to spare field.
Push number punch guide all the way down. Screw on mounting nuts and tighten.

Start with "Mercedes star" punch at left in window plate. The punch should be in contact with the far left side of the window plate.
The tip of the Mercedes star should point up.
Then position "W" punch with left edge at first increment mark in window plate and punch.
Move forward one increment mark on the scale in the window plate with each subsequent number punch until the complete vehicle identification number and then the Mercedes star have been punched into the cross member.
