Remove/install audio gateway control unit - AR82.60-P-7606M

REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
1 Connect no load current retention unit   *WH58.30-Z-1012-09A 
DANGER Risk of explosion  caused by explosive gas. Risk of poisoning and caustic burns  caused by swallowing battery electrolyte. Risk of injury  caused by burns to skin and eyes from battery acid or when handling damaged lead-acid batteries No fire, sparks, open flames or smoking.
Wear protective gloves, acid-resistant clothing and safety glasses. Pour battery electrolyte only into suitable and appropriately marked containers.

3 Remove coverings in trunk IMPORTANT Left side paneling. AR68.30-P-4600M
4.1 Remove overpressure reservoir for dynamic seat control Only models 220.0/1 as of 1.9.02 with code (433) left dynamic seat, incl. multicontour seat or with code (434) right dynamic seat, incl. multicontour seat. AR91.25-P-1570MB
5.1 Remove CD changer Only vehicles with CD changer (6-disc) (code 819).
IMPORTANT Remove only CD changer bracket; do not remove CD changer from the bracket.
IMPORTANT CD changer and navigation processor have a common bracket.

6.1 Remove bracket for navigation processor IMPORTANT Only vehicles with COMAND APS (with navigation) code (527a).↓  
    Remove CD player with changer.
IMPORTANT CD changer and navigation processor have a common bracket.
IMPORTANT Only remove the bracket of the navigation processor; do not remove navigation processor from the bracket.

7.1 Unscrew bolts (2) from bracket (6) IMPORTANT Only for vehicles without CD changer (6-disc) (code 819) and without COMAND APS (with navigation) code (527a).  
8 Unscrew bolts (16,17) from bracket (6) IMPORTANT In model 215 the bracket (6) is attached using a bolt and the nut (17) instead of the nut (16).  
9 Take bracket (6) with audio gateway control unit (N93/1) and Sound amplifier (A2/13) (for vehicles with sound system (code 810)) out of wheelhouse recess NOTESDo not buckle or extend fiber optical cable, routing radii must be greater than 25 mm! Do not damage standard wiring harness (23).   
10 Remove black antenna connector (8) and yellow antenna connector (9) from the rear face of the audio gateway control unit (N93/1)    
11 Detach MOST fiber optical cable coupling (10) from the rear face of the audio gateway control unit (N93/1)    
12 Detach black, 4-pin coupling (11) from the front face of the audio gateway control unit (N93/1)    
13.1 Detach black, 14-pin coupling (12a) from the front face of the audio gateway control unit (N93/1) IMPORTANT Only for vehicles without sound system (code 810).  
14 Unscrew the two collar nuts (22) (magnifiers)    
15 Push out audio gateway control unit (N93/1) from bracket (6) to front in direction of arrow
CAUTION: NOTES For model 215 with Sound amplifier (A2/13), for sound system (code 810). Do not damage standard wiring harness (23).
 
16 Install in the reverse order    
INSPECT Check     
17 Perform function check IMPORTANT See owner's manual.
