Parking Brake Shoes: Removal

  1. Raise and support vehicle. Remove rear wheels. Remove rear brake discs. See BRAKE DISC (FRONT & REAR)  .
  2. Pretension automatic cable slack adjuster by removing exhaust system only as far as necessary to get to detent eccentric bolt (g). See Figure . Turn detent eccentric bolt to the left using an Allen wrench (approximately half a turn) and simultaneously push backwards in slot until spring-loaded detent eccentric (b) engages with raised section (h) in hold down clip (d).
  3. Remove lower retracting spring (111) using removal and installation tool (040). See Fig 1 and Fig 2 .
  4. Remove retaining springs (107) using installation tool (041).
  5. Remove brake shoes (103) over rear axle shaft flange (68).
  6. Remove upper retracting spring (112).
  7. Remove expanding lock (109).
  8. Remove brake shoes.
