Accelerator Pedal

NOTE: Letters and numbers in parenthesis correspond to letters and numbers in illustrations.
  1. Remove key from Electronic Ignition Switch (EIS). Vehicles with Code (889) Keyless-Go, switch off engine, remove Keyless-Go cards from vehicle and store outside of transmitter range.
  2. Remove instrument panel lower cover. See INSTRUMENT PANEL LOWER COVER  .
  3. Remove nut (arrow) attaching accelerator pedal (33). See Fig 1 .
  4. CAUTION: DO NOT disassemble accelerator pedal otherwise it will be damaged beyond repair.
  5. Remove accelerator pedal.
  6. Unplug pedal value sensor (B37) harness connector.
  7. Unplug kickdown switch (S16/6) harness connector, if applicable.
  8. Installation is reverse of removal procedure. Accelerator pedal must be inserted with front guide lug (arrow) in firewall. Tighten nuts and bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .
