Bleeding Brake Calipers
- Remove wiper arms. See WIPER ARMS under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
- Remove 4 expansion rivets holding water deflector.
- Reduce pressure in pressure reservoir by depressing brake pedal approximately 30 times as far as stop.
- Remove brake circuit reservoir cap (10d) and fill reservoir without pressure. See Fig 1 .
- Connect filling and bleeding unit to brake circuit cap (10c) and switch on. Set bleed pressure to 29 psi (2 bar).
- Raise and support vehicle. Remove wheels.
- Following bleeding sequence, see BLEEDING SEQUENCE , open bleed screws on calipers allowing fluid to flow out until it is free of bubbles. If necessary close bleed screw once or twice in the process in order to create a short-term pressure build up to force out any hidden air pockets.
- Bleed brake booster hydraulic unit via brake circuit bleed screw (11b). See Fig 1 . Allow brake fluid to flow out free of bubbles. If necessary close bleed screw once or twice in the process in order to create a short-term pressure build up to force out any hidden air pockets.
- Switch off filling and bleeding unit and disconnect from brake circuit plug.

Ensure manufacturer's operating instructions for filling and bleeding unit are followed.
Bleeding Booster Circuit
- Remove booster circuit reservoir cap (10d) and fill reservoir without pressure. See Fig 1 .
- Connect filling and bleeding unit to booster circuit plug and switch on. Set bleed pressure to 29 psi (2 bar).
- Switch on ignition and simultaneously switch off filling and bleeding unit. The booster circuit pump starts up.
- When booster circuit pump has stopped, depress brake pedal approximately 10 times as far as stop. Booster circuit pump will start up again.
- After booster circuit pump stops again, bleed via booster circuit bleed screw (11a) with brake pedal pushed down.
- Close booster circuit bleed screw and slowly ease off brake pedal. Repeat this procedure until brake fluid comes out free of bubbles.
- Switch off ignition.

Carefully open bleed screw (fluid under high pressure). Secure bleed hose to prevent it from slipping off.

Bleeding Brake Circuit
- Connect filling and bleeding unit to brake circuit cap (10c) and switch on. Set bleed pressure to 29 psi (2 bar). See Fig 1 .
- Switch on ignition. The booster circuit pump starts up. Wait for pump to stop; DO NOT switch off ignition.
- Following bleeding sequence, see BLEEDING SEQUENCE , open bleed screws on calipers allowing fluid to flow out until it is free of bubbles. If necessary close bleed screw once or twice in the process in order to create a short-term pressure build up to force out any hidden air pockets.
- Bleed brake booster hydraulic unit via brake circuit bleed screw (11b). Open bleed screw allowing fluid to flow out until it is free of bubbles. If necessary close bleed screw once or twice in the process in order to create a short-term pressure build up to force out any hidden air pockets.
- Switch off ignition.
- Switch off and disconnect filling and bleeding unit.
- Reduce pressure in reservoir by depressing brake pedal approximately 30 times as far as stop. While stepping on brake pedal, have a helper check fluid level in reservoir; correct fluid level as necessary.
- Correct brake fluid level in booster circuit (10d). Fill booster circuit up to "MAX" mark. Fluid level may drop below "MIN" mark when ignition is switched on.
- Correct brake fluid level in brake circuit.
