REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install    
1 Activate Service mode in TELEAID emergency call system Only on model 463.243/244/245/250/309/ 322/323/332/333 with code ET2 TELEAID car phone emergency call system,
on model 463.247/248/254/270 up to 1.4.07 with code ET2 TELEAID car phone emergency call system

IMPORTANT Notes regarding the Tele-Aid emergency call system   AH82.95-P-0001-01GA
DANGER Risk of explosion  caused by oxyhydrogen gas. Risk of poisoning and caustic burns  caused by swallowing battery acid. Risk of injury  caused by burns to skin and eyes from battery acid or when handling damaged lead-acid batteries No fire, sparks, open flames or smoking. Wear acid-resistant gloves, clothing and glasses. Only pour battery acid into suitable and appropriately marked containers. AS54.10-Z-0001-01A
2 Disconnect battery ground line All models except model 463.248 with code 979 Special protection version AR54.10-P-0003G

4 Remove ETC [EGS] control unit (N15/3) Only on model 463.244/245/250 with transmission 722.610,

Model 463.270/271 with transmission 722.645
IMPORTANT Only remove ETC [EGS] control unit (N15/3) from mounting console (1), do not disconnect electrical connectors.

5 Remove console (1)    
6 Disconnect electrical connector for fiber optic cable (3) from Universal Cell phone Interface (UPCI [UHI]) control unit (N123/1)

7 Cover fiber optic cable   AR82.95-P-0005-01A 
8 Disconnect electrical connector (2) from Universal Cell phone Interface (UPCI [UHI]) control unit (N123/1) IMPORTANT Press electrical connector (2) together and pull off carefully.  
9 Remove Universal Cell phone Interface (UPCI [UHI]) control unit (N123/1)    
10 Install in the reverse order    
11 Deactivate service mode in TELEAID emergency call system Only on model 463.243/244/245/250/309/ 322/323/332/333 with code ET2 TELEAID car phone emergency call system,
on model 463.247/248/254/270 up to 1.4.07 with code ET2 TELEAID car phone emergency call system

12 Read out fault memory and erase IMPORTANT STAR DIAGNOSIS
Stored faults which may be caused by removed cables or by a simulation, must be processed and erased in the fault memories after completing the work.
