Removal & Installation
NOTE:
Letters and numbers in parenthesis correspond to letters and numbers in illustrations.
- Raise and support vehicle. Remove wheels.
- Remove brake hose (1) from brake caliper (2). See Fig 1 .
- Remove brake caliper bolts (3) from brake caliper support (6).
- Remove brake pad contact sensor.
- Press brake caliper piston (4) back with resetting device. Collect brake fluid which runs out in a suitable container.
- Installation is the reverse of removal. Clean brake caliper with brake caliper brush. Check brake caliper for brake fluid leaking at brake piston and damage to dust cap. Replace brake caliper if brake fluid is leaking at brake piston, replace dust cap (5) if damaged. Replace micro-encapsulated guide bolts. Tighten nuts and bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . Bleed hydraulic brake system. See BLEEDING BRAKE SYSTEM . Ensure dash light goes out.
NOTE:
Seal off connection immediately with plugs to prevent brake fluid reservoir from running empty.
