Remove/install rear door - AR72.12-P-0600GN

REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
1 Activate service mode in Telematic Alarm Identification on Demand (emergency call system) (TELE AID) IMPORTANT Only on model 463.243/244/245/250/309/322/323/332/333 with code (ET2) TELE AID car telephone emergency call system, 463.247/248/254/270 up to 1.4.07 with code (ET2) TELE AID car telephone emergency call system AR82.95-P-0005-03GR

DANGER Risk of explosion  caused by escaping oxyhydrogen gas. Risk of injury  caused by caustic burns to eyes, skin and mucous membranes from battery electrolyte (contains diluted sulfuric acid) or metal spatter due to short circuit. Risk of burn  injuries caused by short circuit. Risk of poisoning  caused by swallowing battery electrolyte (contains diluted sulfuric acid) or absorption of lead over the skin or orifices No fire, sparks, open flames or smoking. Wear acid-resistant gloves and clothing and safety glasses with side guards.
Do not place any conductive objects on the battery and avoid any short circuit from battery positive to ground.
Only pour liquid battery electrolyte (diluted sulfuric acid) into suitable and appropriately marked containers.

2 Disconnect battery ground line   AR54.10-P-0003G

3 Remove rear door lining   AR72.12-P-1010GN 
4 Disconnect electrical connector from wiring harness on speaker    
5 Remove rear door control unit   AR72.29-P-1100GN 
6 Carefully loosen door foil IMPORTANTInstallation:  Check door foil, replace if necessary, otherwise moisture can penetrate into the passenger compartment.  
7 Loosen wiring harness from brackets and disconnect electrical connections (1) IMPORTANTInstallation:  Ensure correct routing and mounting of the wiring harness.  
8 Pull rubber grommet (2) out of door pillar and rear door IMPORTANTInstallation:  Pay attention to the correct seat of the rubber grommet (2).  
9 Pull electric leads out of rear door    
10 Remove bolts (4) securing the lower door hinge. NOTES Support front door to prevent damaging rear door or B-pillar.  
11 Remove the screws (3) securing the upper door hinge. NOTES Support rear door with aid of second person, otherwise rear door can fall down.  
12 Remove rear door    
13 Install in the reverse order    
14 Adjust rear door   AR72.12-P-0650A 
15 Deactivate service mode in Telematic Alarm Identification on Demand IMPORTANT Only on model 463.243/244/245/250/309/322/323/332/333 with code (ET2) TELE AID car telephone emergency call system, 463.247/248/254/270 up to 1.4.07 with code (ET2) TELE AID car telephone emergency call system AR82.95-P-0005-03GR

16 Read out fault memory and erase IMPORTANT STAR DIAGNOSIS
Stored faults which can result from cables being disconnected or from simulation during removal and installation or test work, have to be processed and erased in the fault memories after completing the work.
 
REFER TO SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEMS Connect STAR DIAGNOSIS and read out fault memory   AD00.00-P-2000-04A
17 Perform basic programming   AR00.19-P-0200P
