The charge air temperature sensor is located on the charge air pipe at the bottom left in the engine compartment.

Task

The coolant temperature sensor detects the charge air temperature and transmits a corresponding voltage signal to the CDI control unit (N3/9).

Function

The NTC resistor installed in the charge air temperature sensor changes its electrical resistance according to the charge air temperature.

The CDI control unit applies a sensor voltage of 5 V and evaluates the charge air temperature according to the signal voltage.

NTC means " N egative T emperature C oefficient", which means: The electrical resistance decreases as the temperature increases (thermistor).

Connection (polarity) of the two connection pins is random.
